Trust

I used to watch this and really liked it.
Watching some recently I'm not even sure why.
It's not good.
Once more I've proven I can't trust my younger self

Scruffy

Scruffy is one of the best secondary characters.
I remember defending him early in Futurama's run and people didn't get it.
Oh people.

Booty Shots

Avengers Booty Ass-emble by *kevinbolk on deviantART

Yes there is discrepancy between how women are posed in comics and how men are.
Posing men just brings this up.
I saw something a bit ago where a fantasy author posed like the heroines on the cover.
He was not as impressive as the near impossible poses.
Now I understand why it's done but can we get back to the bigger problem about female superheros: high heels.
Why are you fighting crime in hooker boots?

Tech Rehearsal

Oddly enough this occasionally applies to profession theatre too.

Poutine

Add an egg, make it sausage gravy, make some toast, and you got a delicious breakfast.

Good Burger is not a good film
I like it but it is the kind of thing I'd watch after being at Bolsa Chica and then Hoff's Hut until the sun rose but before I'd break out the heat gun and strip some paint.
It filled an odd insomniac video.
In fact Things 90s kids realize said it far better than I could.

Also remember when Less than Jake was a band?
Maybe not one that mattered but one that got radio play.

Meme-tastic

When this meme dies I might miss it.
Not as much as I regret not watching Arrested Development when it was on.
Yes, good bye Nerd Cred, I didn't watch it.
I missed it.
Shame on it I failed internet.
In fact I didn't watch it until last year (like October of Last Year).
So there you are.
Take my Nerd Card, I'm hardly using it anyway.

Fake Signs

Years ago I remember finding a site with the pranks a guy played.
One was adding objects to a sign.
Another was changing menu pictures.
A third was putting that guy from American Pie (yes the one that had pie sex)onto a McDonald's menu.
Very cool pranks.
I believe one of his last was a valentine's day scavenger hunt.
Good stuff.
Why I never got into that stuff I don't know.

Everyone loves a Slinky

Tattoo

I look this tattoo.
I doubt it'll look this good when this person ages or gains weight but right now it's a very good piece.
It took me a while to read the whole phrase.
For those without patience it says, "God Is An Imaginary Friend For Grown Ups"

Rock Stars and Their Parents

It's easy to forget that rock stars were born.
And often their parents aren't the coolest people.
Then again when you grow up and have children named Dweezil, Moon Unit, Ahmet, and Diva got to scratch your head and wonder.
Wonder how to be that awesome

Sonnet Drunk

(314):

CORAL IS FAR MORE RED THAN HER LIPS RED

(+04):

Oh god you're Sonnet 130 drunk, aren't you.
( Via )

Similar but not identical to this:

On a side note I wish I knew sonnets well enough to be sonnet drunk.
Alas it is more rhyming couplet drunk...
or once in a while limerick drunk.

Pickle Surprise

My friend Wombat Fury
had a birthday recently.
This was what I sent him as a happy (belated) birthday.

Scumbag College

Way Too Late Music Video Fix

Last Valentine's Day I went with a few friends and folks either they were dating or hoping to screw to the Chapel.
I was alone.
We all got hammered.
Like really really drunk.
One guy even took a picture in the bathroom and days later didn't know where it came from until he looked at his bank statement.
Long story short (too late) I texted an ex and a girl I wouldn't mind seeing a mass text that read like a personalized one.
The next afternoon I had to answer awkward texts they didn't realize were drunk texts.

Valentine's Day

Jin Wicked was one of those artists I found years ago.
She went through some hard times, stopped doing a good comic called Crap I Drew on my Lunch Break.
She made a few attempts to get going again but hasn't really been able to do it.
It's really a shame because she is an artist I really liked. Her work had this creativity and fun that was missing in many other comics I read. It's a shame but I also understand.
I check her site from time to time hoping she's recovered enough to make great work again but so far it hasn't happened but she keeps trying and that's something.

Player Piano

Something great about a computer controlling a mechanical device and it doing this.
Yeah song isn't all that great to hear but watching those keys is another thing

Albino Peacock

Wait... what?

I don't know.
I don't want to know.
Just give me a dozen tickets.

Rainier Beer

Finished working with Flying Karamazov Brothers had I known they did a Rainier Beer commercial I would have brought a 6 pack for the challenge juggle.
Now I have something to bring if I see them perform.

Urban Art

The other day I was driving, it was a coldish day and a girl was walking down the street wearing a short skirt and boots.
Awkardness Abounds yells, "Put on some tights whore!"

SNICK

I remember when this started.
"Are You Afraid of the Dark" still stands as a favorite television show of my childhood and came about as I was really discovering horror films.
It was good times but it's best left in the past.

Danzig

Ahh Danzig.
Eventually I'll be confident enough to sing 'Mother' at Karaoke.
And by "confident" I mean "drunk".

Yeah I missed you.

Dinner?

Black Velvet

Perhaps it's a trap and perhaps it's not.
It doesn't really matter as I need more black velvet paintings but 100 dollars does seem a bit high.

Although if I were to see this at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet I'd pick it up.
On ebay it just doesn't seem right.

Purple Squirrel

Saw this on TYWKIWDBI and it's quite strange.
One suggestion is too much bromide in the squirrel's system but really it's rather strange to happen.

( The whole article and some poetry

Teenage Poetry

In the future Angsty Teen Poetry will be written in Limericks.
On the plus side the poems will be shorter.
On the minus it'll be harder to not laugh.

My life's a hollow shell
For I started this life Hell
  unknown is my plight
for I lost all my might
I drank from a poisoned well

We don't have lives in space
Instead we're stuck in this race
  chasing some money
  yet nothing is funny
Why should I keep up pace?

Way Too Late Music Video Fix

It's not called "Heron is so Passé" but "Not if you were the Last Junkie on Earth"
I remember this coming on Alternative Nation and I think it was about the same time as Mike Flower did his cover of "Wonderwall" and STP did that retro looking video where the fireworks ended up over exposed.

Dig this but never got into the Dandy Warhols.

When in doubt enjoy salsa as part of your balanced breakfast.

Sounded great.
This is even better and from North Korea.

Day the Music Died

Yep February 3rd 1959.
Not much more can said but the Venture Brothers say that the Big Bopper and Buddy Holly joined the Guild.
No mention of what happened to Richie Valens though...
Still, memories of sitting in Regents listening to this song. Talking about what it could mean or not mean.
In the end, as Rich Watson often said, "They are words that sound good together"

Although I have started saying, "I was a lonely teenage bronco buck with a pink carnation and a need to fuck" but hey that's me.

History and such

Yep... Portlandia.

Dianetics

I remember seeing this on TV and then at Waldenbooks.
Unfortunately this was the 80s (or early 90s) and none of my family knew what it was.
Also didn't want to pay for me to have it.

T Rex Trying

Saw this on a blog, forget which, finally got to check it out.
Poor T-Rex don't you realize your arms are pretty useless?
Doesn't matter you're still King of Dinosaurs.

Swinging 60s

Why not enjoy some coffee in one of these swank London Coffee Houses?
In some ways reminds me of the 90s in Southern California.
With the Starbucks boom it seemed like anyone that could afford an espresso machine would suddenly have a cafe.
Most weren't much to speak of but there were a few good ones.
