Hey Arnold

I would watch the hell out of this film.

Tattoo

I liked Doug but I doubt I'd get a tattoo of it.
...Now "Angry Beavers" I'd consider as long as we're talking about poor decision nostalgia tattoos.

Remember When?

It wasn't as accepted to be an Apple Fan?
Especially if you were into video games?
How things have changed.

Exploitation Now

I discovered webcomics in late '99 or early '00.
Finding Penny Arcade via a link on Gamespy.
Most were video game comics and quite nerdtacular.
Also most were pretty dull.
I did the standard rounds between Penny Arcade, Megatokyo, Mac Hall, RPG World a few others that have long since vanished.
Then I found a couple gag a day ones.
Of those Exploitation Now was my favorite.
I caught really early in it's run and was with it until the end.
While I liked the way Poe ended it I hoped he'd go back to it.
I didn't get into Errant Story but feel I should have but I couldn't help comparing it to Exploitation Now.

Tech Support

I remember when the Quills got a NES.
Excitement raced through Mira Mar each of us hoping to have a crack at Ryan's new toy.
Even this odd ice cream social thing eventually moved to us playing Wizards and Warriors while the adults... honestly I have no idea what they did.
Like all NESes it started to have problems.
I don't recall knowing who I heard blowing on the cart from but it didn't always work.
When it did there was redemption for our effort.
...there was also a trick involving a quarter, turning it on and then putting the cart in, or an odd putting the whole thing upside down.
It was more rituals to make the thing, perhaps an odd bit of magical thinking in the early 90s but when it worked it was awesome.

Yet this skills occurs even now.
A bit ago I asked to check some lighting dimmer packs.
My instructions were: "Turn it off, remove it from the rack, blow on it like a Nintendo game, put it back in, then turn it on."

Airships

When gas first hit $4/gallon I remember hearing someone on Coast to Coast Am talking about an airship start up.
Steampunk hadn't quite hit the popular imagination and was still an odd sub genre of scifi, so there wasn't the buzz that would conquer the internet today if a company proposed such a thing.
Still the idea of taking an airship, instead of a cruise, seems quite interesting.
Don't think about the logistics just about the experience.

New Playlist

From a Cracked.com list of baffling trends in olde tymie album covers.
Apparently there was a girl watcher club at my college in the 60s, I know this because there was a plaque in memory of some guy.
I wonder if he listened to this album.

Good Night Everybody

I love Animaniacs.
Watching this I realize how much my humor was influenced by this show.
And Marx Brothers.

Star Wars

Freshman year of college I had a roommate, who like me, was a nerd.
Now we were nerds in the sense that each of us had interest in things that weren't cool.
SciFi, Dilbert, computers, the like. In '99 when computers weren't suggested for freshman each of us had one, me with my laptop, and him a desktop. Sharing a dial up connection was tough but we made it work somehow.
That year was pretty good and we stayed in touch the next few years, then drifted apart around junior year, oddly enough I ran into at graduation and we talked again. He was getting his degree in Music and considering staying on for Computer Science (what he entered college to do) he admitted that the year living with me had changed his view of college and had more fun after living with the slacker that was me.

Anyway he found this video early in our freshman year.
We quoted it throughout the year and I had looked for it off and on for years.
Makes me wonder if Phantom Menace 3d is still in theatres.

SNICK

I remember when this started.
"Are You Afraid of the Dark" still stands as a favorite television show of my childhood and came about as I was really discovering horror films.
It was good times but it's best left in the past.

Caught Looking

Breasts are awesome and who wouldn't get caught looking.
Especially not Sophia Loren catching a quick look at Jayne Mansfield's breasts.
Hollywood has always been a classy place.

Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I think so Brain but I never realized these are a bit dirty... or my brain is.

Way Too Late Music Video Fix

This helped win "Best Heavy Metal Album"?
Why?
Sure I like "Farm on the Freeway" and "Another Harry's Bar" but not this.

Way Too Late Music Video Fix

Stop Motion holds a place in my heart.
Tool's Sober is another video that really used it well.
Green Jelly on the other hand did this.
Something like an art school experiment it's still a great thing.

I vaguely remember in 1995 (or so) listening to an interview with them on KNAC. It was a sunday and I was listening because Rodney on the Roq was on and despite all Rodney Bingenheimer has done his show doesn't thrill me like I feel it should.
But I remember Green Jelly talking about taking apart couches to make costumes and being a terrible band, and pretty much how most people would act if they were drunk, high, and not taking the situation seriously.
Good times.

DNS made easy

I remember my first webpage. I think it was in the New York section of geocities... but it may have been in Roswell... those were halcyon days... well not really but I do miss blood dividers.

Super Mario Bros

Kind of makes me want to take up glass blowing because I could see these and retire.
Or just use it.
And while I do I will sing the closing theme from the Super Mario Bros Super Show.
Don't remember how that goes?
Don't worry I can help:

Recreation

Perhaps my college years were wasted not recreating cartoons from my youth.
I won't be sure.
Also I won't be sure if anyone else remembers Fillmore.
